Wednesday 2/27 & Thursday 2/28

Today you need to finish your EGG HEAD/EGG HOLDER lesson if you have not done so already.  Remember your egg head must be sitting in your egg holder before emailing it to me.  **Remember to Zip/Archive your file before attaching it!**

When you are finished, you may go on to your Lamp Mini Lesson.  Requirements are listed below.  I will teach you how to add a physical light to your lamp next class!

Monday & Tudsday 2/25-2/26

Today students will continue working their Egg Head and Egg Holder Projects!  When you are done, put your egg head in the egg holder and email me your zipped/archived file!   

Thursday 2/21

ARTiFact # 7

Today students will finish up their Mini Lesson Table.  Email the zipped file when complete.  (20 minutes or so to finish the table lesson.)

As a class we will explore our new tools using a CV curve tool and the Sculpt Geometry Tool.

Once we are are familiar with the new tools, students will begin working on our next lesson in NURBS Modeling. 

Wednesday 2/20

Today students need to finish their Mini Lesson table.  Remember, your grade is based on creativity and effort.  MAKE IT GOOD!  If you still need to finish your temple, then continue on with that today.  BUT both are due at the end of class!  Email your zipped file to duffyohs@gmail.com

If you are waiting to go on...work on the next assignment, the Egg Holder that starts on page 160.

If you are done with everything, used to extra time to do some productive!!!....NOT playing games, text messaging, etc.

2/14 & 2/15

Today students will finish up their temple projects, including adding the three extra components: temple roof, extra ring around the roof, and stairs that should appear on four sides of your eight sided temple.

Make sure you are adding a color to your temple before emailing your zipped file to duffyohs@gmail.com

Once you are done with your temple, begin designing your Table Mini Lesson!

Today you will continue working on your temple tutorial.  Check the page number you wrote down in your folder to figure out where you left off last class.  

How do I get to my tutorials?    

Open Maya --> Click Help --> Tutorials --> Getting Started with Maya 2011  -->  Then scroll down to your page number OR enter the number at the top in the page number box.

Read the directions, follow the numbers and you should do great!  If you have any questions, ask your neighbors!  They can help you!

When you're done for the day SAVE IN YOUR H: DRIVE!!!

If you need a break, take it, but then get back to work...and please be respectful...don't bother the people around you. 

How to Archive/zip a Maya File for email!

Zip/Archive:

Save your work        File- Save Scene As  (Always save in your H drive)

Zip/Archive              File- Archive Scene

**When you zip/archive, there is an address that shows up in the bottom right hand side in a black box.  In that black box it will give you the address of where your zipped file is located. 

        Therefore, it should state       #Result: 'H:/(whatever you named your file).mb.zip


Attaching that file to an email:

Begin new email

Attach file:   Search for where your zipped file is located and attach the file that says .zip
        **If you attach a regular size file, your email will never go through.  The files are WAY too big!

Today we will choose a winner for the car building contest!  We will learn how to zip/archive Maya files and send your projects to duffyohs@gmail.com!

We also will start our first Maya tutorial--making a temple!

Tuesday & Wednesday 2/5 & 2/6

Today we are going to continue with our car building contest!  You will have the rest of today to complete your car.  We will also discuss how to add different colors to different parts of your car.  Remember: the winner gets a prize!  Voting will happen next class!  Good Luck!

Today we will learn how to create Polygon shapes as well as NURB shapes and learn the difference between the two.  We will also learn how to manipulate the shapes to make them look different than the standard shapes!
